Master Fred Bargiacchi conducts his Little Ninja’s class here at Prime Time Early Learning Center in Paramus. The children look forward to his class every Thursday morning. The class is conducted for 3 and 4 year olds. The children learn so much from his class. Coordination, balance, taking turns as well as their listening skills and discipline has improved. He makes the class fun and engaging. The children love to address him as ‘Sir’ and listen to his instructions very intently and they feel really proud to wear the uniform to the class. His engagement with the children, teachers and parents are very professional and informative. I recommend his class to any little one and I am sure they will enjoy their time with him.

We have had Master Fred teach his Little Ninjas program here at Tutor Time in Saddle Brook for over 15 years and it has constantly been our most popular elective program. Master Fred works with the children on building their skills such as concentration, listening and focusing as well as teaching them about stranger danger. I highly recommend Master Fred & his American Self Defense Center.

Master Fred Has been coming to our center to teach the Little Ninjas program for over 15 years. Master Fred’s program is very popular and most children in my class join the sessions. Over the years I have had the chance to sit and observe Master Fred’s classes. The sessions are very interactive and promote many gross motor activities, in addition to focusing on listening skills, concentration and cooperation. Master Fred also conducts discussions with the children about stranger danger which is a very important topic among young children. The children always have tons of fun in his class.
Master Fred also is willing to share his knowledge and strategies with myself and other teachers to help us with challenging behaviors in our classrooms. He provides us with ideas on how to work with children on self-control, listening, and focusing skills. By implementing his suggestions, I was able to help some of my students with their challenging behaviors.
I highly recommend the Little Ninjas program run by Master Fred

For Over 10 Years Nursery Rhymes School has been hosting the “Little Ninjas” program developed by Master Fred Bargiacchi. In contrast to other Martial Arts programs that Nursery Rhymes has hosted in the past, the “Little Ninja” program focuses on developing the preschoolers listening skills as well as their balance and coordination and not just kicks and punches. “Sir” as he is called by the children, makes the experience fun because he is enthusiastic and he enjoys working with young children. Many of my former students who attended Master Fred’s program at Nursery Rhymes have continued with great success, their Martial Arts training with Master Fred at his center in Rochelle Park. I highly recommend Master Fred Bargiacchi’s programs for pre-school age children because the program has been carefully developed with age appropriate activities with specific developmental goals in mind.

Spring Lake Day Camp fully enjoys our partnership with Master Fred's Martial Arts Program during the summer months. They share our philosophy of “children first” creating an environment which allows children to build self-esteem and believe in themselves.

It is amazing how fast Master Fred and his team gets the attention of the children and keep them engaged. It’s always a pleasure to have them at SLDC.

The Little Ninjas program has been such a wonderful enhancement to our preschool program. The children love the time they spend with Master Fred. Master Fred makes the program fun and educational. The children are learning to follow rules as well as being patient as they wait their turn. Master Fred works hand in hand with our staff bouncing off ideas to make us one cohesive unit. Little Ninjas and Master Fred get a huge thumbs up!

Master Fred is fantastic! We brought him in to be part of a 6 week after school enrichment program and our students LOVED him! His Martial Arts class offered a great blend of character building and self-defense skills. He taught life lessons they could understand as well as proper techniques. My son was one of the students who took this class and he really enjoyed it. We look forward to working with him again in the future.

DOES YOUR PRESCHOOLER

struggle with these things?

They struggle to maintain control of their movements and may be unintentionally destructive.

They find it difficult to focus on a task or to see it through to the end.

They have a hard time sharing their belongings and getting along with other kids.

PARENTING PRESCHOOLERS IS A REAL CHALLENGE.

You must balance their natural inquisitiveness and high energy with trying to teach them the basic skills they need for school and life.

Discipline, sharing, and self-control are all things they need to learn to be successful.

The ideal setting is one that’s got some structure but works with kids at their current developmental level. If they have fun while they’re learning, they’ll be more likely to retain those lessons and learn the skills they need.

Results and growth with every class!

Studying martial arts is ideal for young children. It provides them with an outlet for their energy. But, it also teaches them about respect, discipline, and other core values that will go with them beyond the dojo. Junior martial arts classes teach kids to control their movements and behavior, and they’ll learn social skills and interaction at the same time.

Studying Martial Arts Builds Physical Coordination and Control

Young children who learn martial arts find out quickly that each movement must be intentional. They learn to control their movements to the best of their ability.

They also practice hand-eye coordination and learn about their bodies. That means they’ll be less likely to be unintentionally destructive.

Young Martial Arts Students Learn How to Focus

Getting young kids to pay attention can feel like an impossible task. The structure of our martial arts classes shows kids the importance of focus and teaches them by having them apply it to easily-achievable tasks.

The focus they learn in the dojo is something they’ll take home – and into the classroom. That’s why kids who study martial arts tend to be good students, too.

Martial Arts Helps Kids Learn to Deal with Frustration

Martial arts instruction requires students to pursue goals to earn new belts. Young kids can easily become frustrated when they don’t get what they want, but studying martial arts helps them learn the power of persistence.

The physical activity in our classes also helps kids manage stress and anxiety by allowing them to burn it off in a safe and constructive way.

Kids Who Study Martial Arts Learn Good Sportsmanship

Losing is not anybody’s idea of fun, but we all need to learn how to accept a defeat gracefully and move on. We teach students that losing is part of life – and it’s what you do after you lose that tells people who you are.

Even though martial arts is an individual sport, we cultivate an environment of supportive teamwork where students root for one another.

A great staff that truly cares about all of the kids. The black belts that assist are all such amazing children. My daughter has been going here for 3 years now and it has been nothing but educational and enjoyable for her!

FAQs

My child still has temper tantrums and I’m worried about how they’ll behave in school. Can studying martial arts help?

Yes, it can. We help children learn the importance of emotional control and respect for others. These are lessons that will help them in the classroom, too.

Will studying martial arts help my child learn how to interact with others and share?

Yes. Even though studying martial arts is an individual pursuit, we teach kids to learn in a collaborative environment with an emphasis on sharing, cooperation, and teamwork.

My child zones out in class and misses important instructions. Can taking martial arts classes help them do a better job of focusing?

Yes. Part of martial arts training is teaching kids to be mindful of themselves and their surroundings. They must focus to succeed in class, and once they learn to do it, they’ll be able to do the same thing at school.

My child is out of control physically, and can be very destructive. How will studying martial arts help?

Martial arts instruction focuses on hand-eye coordination, control, and strength. As kids learn basic moves and then advance, they learn how to control their bodies and movements.

My child gives up easily when frustrated. I want them to learn persistence. Can your classes help?

Yes. It’s common for students to require more than one attempt to earn a new belt. We teach them that trying is the most important thing – and that persistence pays off.

My child is disrespectful to me and to other caregivers. How can studying martial arts change that?

Respect is at the core of everything we do in the dojo. Kids who study martial arts must respect their instructors and fellow students, and we find that they learn to respect parents, teachers, caregivers, and siblings at the same time.
