In conjunction with local law enforcement, area public and private schools, and nearby hospitals, ASDFC teaches the community to feel good about themselves, as well as protecting themselves. From our Pre School Builders programs for children to our College Safe programs for teenagers. (AGE 3 – 5)
Preschool Builders
The Preschool Builders program is a detailed curriculum that focuses on improving preschool-age children’s basic motor and listening skills. These skills will help them enter society with a more confident and enthusiastic outlook. They will become better students at school, better listeners at home and more ambitious towards the future. Studies have shown that ages 3 to 6 are the most important years of a child’s development. Preschool Builders will enhance positive development in a fun and motivating way. The Preschool Builder’s curriculum consists of developing 8 Major Skills that are necessary for participation in any sport or activity. Designed by a professional certified educator and an experienced martial artists our unique, one of a kind lesson plans provide each child with interactive learning experiences and individual attention that assures learning and personal development. The curriculum also contains 8 Preschool Builder’s personal development skills that are used to reinforce family values. Upon completion of our preschool Builders program, children will become focused and motivated to achieve any goal they set in life!
Stranger/Danger
Over 2,000 children are reported missing everyday, help us protect our most precious asset, our children! This interactive program will teach our children how to identify and react to strangers; avoid unsafe situations and simple escape techniques to get out of dangerous situations.
(AGES 5 – 7)
H.E.R.O (Helping Everyone Respect Others)
This character enrichment program teaches children how to identify and react to bullies, as well as becoming a positive leader in their community. Children will learn to respect themselves and others around them. This fun interactive program is sure to develop positive self-esteem, and create leaders, not followers!
S.A.F.E. (Safety Awareness For Everyone)
As children mature their desire to participate in different events without the watchful eye of parents increases. This specialized program focuses on personnel safety topics reinforced with basic mental, verbal, and physical self-defense techniques.
(AGES 8 – 12)
Bully-Buster
This interactive program will teach children how to identify and react to bullies non-violently. Participants will learn about the 3 types of bullies, the 12 ways to walk away with confidence, win / win self-defense techniques and much more. This exciting and fun program will arm children with the knowledge to defend themselves both mentally and physically when confronted. Working in conjunction with local law enforcement agencies, area hospitals, public and private schools, our Bully Buster program is committed to teaching children how to stay safe, while avoiding the path to drug and alcohol abuse.
Self Fit
Staying fit and keeping safe, two important elements in a student’s life. This program is designed to help you look great, plus enable you to defend yourself against an attacker. Focusing on making good choices, these students will learn the basics of fitness and practical self-defense techniques that anyone can use to defend themselves while staying in shape. Class will be divided into two parts: 30 minute self-defense workshop & 30 minute fitness kickboxing.
Smart Choice
Conflict Resolution For Girls
Raising confident and healthy girls is particularly challenging today. Many elementary and middle school girls worry about clothing, popularity, and their weight more than traditional childhood activities. Having mature interests often puts young girls in situations they aren’t ready for and that their parents dont expect them to experience until they are older. ASDFC’s Smart Choice Conflict Resolution For Girls Program can help girls make healthy decisions in even the most difficult situations, giving girls the confidence to stand up for themselves both mentally and physically
(AGES 13 & UP)
Unleash the Potential Within
The objective of this program is to empower the students to discover how to identify what it is they really want, permanently break through any barriers that might be holding them back, dramatically increasing their physical energy and mental clarity, while building passion into a student’s daily life. This program includes effective goal setting and problem solving strategies as well as developing leadership and teamwork skills.
Safety Awareness for Teens
This interactive program will teach teens to identify possible dangerous situations and how to avoid them. A combination of lecture and practical self-defense techniques will be taught, making the teen more self-confident in protecting themselves. Curriculum will include such topics as managing peer pressure and preventing alcohol/ drug abuse as well as practical, easy to use self-defense skills. This program is recommended for ages 13 and up and can be taught as an assembly or weekly sessions.
College Safe
This specialized course will prepare teenage girls graduating from high school and getting ready to attend college.
Arming them with mental, verbal, and physical selfdefense skills this program is a must for all teenage girls
looking to attend college.
Get Started With Your Character Enrichment Program Today
1. All schools wanting to participate in the ASDFC’s Character Enrichment programs must have “Full-Approval” from their school principal.
2. Upon approval, please call Fred Bargiacchi at 201-368-9050 for any questions regarding the program and to set up an appointment.
3. With the support of your principal, send out a school-wide notice to inform and excite your staff members about the program. This is a great way to gauge interest and gather feedback.
4. Find out if your school is willing to provide additional incentives for students who would participate in the program.
